Bays

'Ramla l-Ħamra' is a sandy beach frequented by a lot of tourists and also by inhabitants.  This bay makes part of Xagħra although it is in Nadur too.

Dwejra apart from having a beautiful beach, it offers natural amazing sights such as the 'Window' formed naturally in rocks and the Fungus Rock which is called after finding a fungus which cured the Breast Cancer.

Mgarr ix-Xini is a natural bay in the outskirts of Ta' Sannat and Xewkija.  This bay is protected by a Watch Tower.  The Valley of Mgarr ix-Xini leads to this bay although it is difficult to pass through it.

Xatt l-Aħmar is very close to Mgarr ix-Xini and lies within the sights of the Guardiola (guard post) of Fort Chambray.  It is in Għajnsielem but it is not frequented a lot by tourists since the only way to get to it is by walking.

Window 'Tieqa ta' Wied il-Mielaħ'

This is a window formed in rocks in Gharb.  It is a bit difficult to reach this site because one has to know the way.  According to this it is not frequented by many tourists and habitants.

Ta' Cenc Cliffs

These cliffs are a very beautiful view.  It is said that many millions of years before the existence of human beings, this part was joined with Europe to Sicily since these rocks are very similar to those in Sicily.

Valleys

Valleys in our island are common because our island is mountainous.  So when water is carried to sea valleys are formed.  Valleys have their beauty and one can walk along these paths and enjoy a long and quiet walk.  Among these valleys in Gozo one can find 'Wied l-Ghasri' from Ghasri to Marsalforn bay, 'Wied Hanzira' from Xewkija to Mgarr ix-Xini bay, and 'Wied ta' Xhajma' from Nadur to Ramla l-Hamra bay.

Ghar Ilma is a hill beside Santa Lucija, Kercem; West of Victoria.  This hill has a natural water spring which makes the area one of the most fertile in Gozo.  The Aqueducts were supplied with water by this hill.
