Xewkija  and Għajnsielem Parish Churches are the most recently built in Gozo.  These two churches both have hand made sculptures in the Globigerina Limestone.  The Xewkija church is the largest church in Gozo and the fifth highest one in the whole world.  It is a Rotunda.  The Għajnsielem Parish Church is built in the form of a Cross.

Another very beautiful church is the Cathedral Church which is without a dome because the architect has died but from inside due to the real apparent paintings it seems that it has a dome.

Although Ta' Pinu is not a parish church, it is a very popular church because it was built after Lady Mary has talked to heard by Karmni Grima.  This church is in Għarb and was visited by present Pope John Paul II and has put golden stars as a halo on a painting of our Lady Mary of Ta' Pinu.

Here in Gozo all villages are proud of having their parish church.  All churches are kept at their best and frequented by almost all the villagers.  They are all found in the square of their village.
